Women from the Korogocho slum make key rings for the Italian fashion brand MAX&Co. in the Babadogo Community Centre, Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009. The women are members of Bidii Shoe Makers and create part of MAX&Co.'s "ethical fashion" range in Africa. The programme, in partnership with the ITC, is designed to reduce extreme poverty and empower women. Producing 30 - 50 key-rings per day the women can earn as much as $5 per day, much higher than the average wage for people in this part of Nairobi. The limited edition collection consists of one-of-a-kind handmade accessories such as shoulder-bags, bracelets, key-rings, belts and scarfs.
