An artisan in the Kibera workshops paints a polished bead made from cow bone, in Nairobi, Kenya, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2008. Kibera is the largest slum in Africa, home to 1 million people many of whom live in abject poverty. MAX&Co. and the ITC (International Trade Centre) employ 100 people here to produce the bone disks that adorn their African range of products.
